Recent McKinsey Global Survey data indicates that the field of generative AI is developing quickly. A significant number of these tools were only introduced a year or so ago, and according to a third of survey participants, at least one business function regularly employs generative AI. AI has drawn attention in recent years from corporate leadership as well as technical staff. More than 25% of respondents whose companies use AI already use generative AI tools, and nearly 25% of C-level executives surveyed personally use generative AI tools in their work. There have been rumors that the Board of Directors has this on its agenda. In addition, forty percent of participants indicated that they would augment their AI investment. The survey results show that it is still early days in managing the risks associated with AI, with less than half of respondents saying they have been able to reduce the risk they believe is most relevant: inaccuracy.
